Marta has an extensive performance background in recital, oratorio, sacred music, and musical theater. She is a graduate of Butler University and a former voice student of Maude Beerum. She has worked in close association with the composer for the last fourteen years. Consequently, many of the pieces on Vocalnetics were written specifically for Ms. Phillips’ voice. Lullaby for Madeleine was in fact, written for Marta’s daughter. Mother and daughter currently reside in Connecticut..
