MARY ANN BEATTY, soprano, has appeared as soloist for the Chicago Svmphony Orchestra with Daniel Barenboim in Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, and with the late Margaret Hillis in Bartok's Italian Village Scenes. This past season, she performed solos in the Vivaldi Gloria, Mozart's Missa in C and Mahler's Symphony No. 2 with Musica Sacra, and performed chamber pieces written by CSO violist and renowned composer Max Raimi at Northwestern University. Later this year, she will record two songs written for her by Chicago composer Brian Conn. She can be heard as guest soloist on the CD Gentle Woman, Songs of Mary with the St. Thomas of Vllanova Choir. Ms. Beatty frequently performs in churches and temples around Chicago, including Holy Name Cathedral. She has been a professional member of the CSO Chorus for 25 years, and soprano section leader for 15 years. |
