William Chin is Assistant Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, of which he is also a singing member. He is also the founder and artistic director of The Oriana Singers, a six-voice ensemble that has presented concerts in the Midwest, Europe and Central America since 1979. Mr. Chin is Minister of Music at First United Church of Oak Park, where he directs the sanctuary choir and started the Music At First concert series. He is also director of the Anshe Emet Choir, and this fall was appointed director of the Oak Park and River Forest Children's Choir and the director of The Symphony Chorus of the Symphony of Oak Park & River Forest. He served as assistant conductor and bass section leader of the Chamber Singers at Holy Name Cathedral. He was also Artistic Director of the Chicago Children's Choir from 1993 to 1999. Bill is active as a singer in the Chicago area and has performed with the Cathedral Singers and Schola Antiqua, and has sung in numerous recording sessions. He has been an adjunct faculty member at the School for New Learning of DePaul University and is a recipient of a Joseph Jefferson Citation. |
